The event focuses in two areas in which cooperation between engineering and medicine is being particularly successful: the biomaterials, the new Information and communication technologies (ICT). These new technologies allow both the repair of human body with materials compatible with living tissues, and the design of new techniques for minimally invasive surgery that will help ubiquitous treatments. All this, aided by new advanced diagnostic and treatment planning from a distance.
