Alma IT Systems’ Research Department is composed of a team of young, professional and multidisciplinary people. The team is directed by Drs. Miguel A. González and Frederic Pérez, experts with wide research experience both in academic institutions and in industrial and clinical research.

Dr. Miguel A. González – Chief Research Officer. PhD from the University of Oxford (UK). He previously worked as Senior Researcher at Toshiba Medical Systems (Otawara, Japón), Staff Researcher at INRIA (Sophia Antipolis, France), and Director of the Surgical Technology Division at the University of Berne (Switzerland). Dr. González has more than ten years research experience in medical image analysis and management of research teams; he is author of more 120 publications in scientific journals and international conferences. From the year 2008 he heads the Research Department at Alma IT Systems.

Dr. Frederic Pérez – Research Project Leader. PhD in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona). He has more than ten years research experience in computer graphics and image analysis for medical applications. His research activity has been performed at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, University of Girona, University of Grenoble (France) and Vall d’Hebrón University Hospital (Barcelona). From the year 2008 he is a Senior Researcher at Alma IT Systems.
